So, you’ve heard the good news, received it and confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Congratulations! Maybe you’ve found a ministry and are working hard in service to God. Yet, when is the last time you did nothing more than be with God, undistracted? Dedicated time with God is essential! Jesus modeled this for us time and time again.
“After he had dismissed them (disciples), he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone” – Matthew 14:23.
If you are like me, you may find yourself praying all day…while you’re driving, while you’re cleaning, while you’re eating. But, with how many things must God share our attention? Our prayer life is indicative of our relationship with God. So, how is God participating in your prayer life? What is the last thing that God’s Holy Spirit told you? Do you remember?
I learned some time ago to stop trying to find time for God, and instead make time for God…a priority! Prayer must not always be perfectly crafted, full of words and thoughts. Sometimes, prayer can be intentional time set aside to just be with and in the presence of God. These may be the very times that you hear God speaking to you. Don’t keep God waiting!
