Dear Family and Friends,
As we continue in this season of Lent, let us be mindful that it is now also Women’s History month. In honor of contemporary women leaders, I pray that the following words of our own beloved daughter, mother and sister will encourage you to remain centered on your faith. As you practice your chosen discipline or sacrifice, and reflect on your own journey.
“Looking back now, I realize that much of my childhood in El Paso was centered on faith and trying to do God’s will. My grandfather was deeply religious and passed down his spiritual convictions to his daughters and granddaughters. In some ways, I think I am still living out my childhood, and I have an abiding faith in God and a conviction that the Bible can guide us to do the Lord’s will and live righteously. My faith has had a profound effect in my personal and professional life, and I try to follow the words of Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
